PROJECT OVERVIEW

A little about the project.

Create a poster around the theme of metamorphosis, using typography as the main visual element. The aim was to communicate change and transformation without relying on traditional imagery, while still creating something visually striking and easy to recognise.

THE APPROACH

From idea to direction.

I focused on the idea of letterforms physically changing and shifting across the composition. I used strong contrast, oversized type and distorted shapes to make the typography feel unstable and in motion, while keeping the overall layout bold and graphic.

THE PROCESS

Developing the idea.

I began by experimenting with different ways of stretching, breaking and rearranging the word Metamorphosis. I tested several compositions, changing the scale, spacing and direction of the type to see how far I could push it while keeping it readable. From there, I refined the strongest layout and developed the colour palette and supporting details around it.

FINAL OUTCOME

The finished result.

The final poster uses typography as both the message and the image. The distorted letterforms and high-contrast colour palette create a sense of movement and transformation, giving the piece a strong identity while staying closely connected to the original theme.
