Create a travel app that makes exploring feel more rewarding and personal. The aim was to combine trip tracking, achievements, maps and recommendations into one experience without making the app feel cluttered or overly game-like.

A little about the project.
Create a travel app that makes exploring feel more rewarding and personal. The aim was to combine trip tracking, achievements, maps and recommendations into one experience without making the app feel cluttered or overly game-like.
From idea to direction.
The branding and interface developed together so the app could feel consistent from the start. I chose blue as the main colour because it connects naturally with travel, oceans, freedom and adventure, while lilac adds a softer playful accent and helps separate rewards and premium features from the core interface. I created Pebble, a pigeon mascot, because pigeons appear in cities all over the world and felt like a fitting character to travel alongside the user.

Developing the idea.
I began by sketching ideas for Pebble before developing the mascot and visual identity in Illustrator. From there, I worked on the rounded typography and broader brand system, then moved into the app interface. The UI was designed to feel clean and modern, taking inspiration from Apple’s interface language while adding more playful, gamified elements through XP, achievements, maps and travel milestones. One of the biggest challenges was making every screen feel different enough to serve its own purpose while still clearly belonging to the same app.
The finished result.
The final design combines a calm, modern interface with a more playful travel identity. Custom illustrations, maps, branding and mascot elements sit alongside familiar Apple-style UI patterns, helping the app feel approachable without losing clarity. The result is a consistent visual system that can scale across trip tracking, achievements, recommendations, statistics and future features.
